On 10 October, World Mental Health Day is observed, a day established by the World Health Organization to raise awareness and promote global discussion on issues related to mental health. This occasion represents an important opportunity to reflect on the importance of psychological well-being, too often overlooked, and on the need to make support and care services accessible to everyone.
Mental health is a particularly relevant topic in today’s context, where factors such as the pandemic, economic uncertainty and social pressures have increased the number of people experiencing conditions such as anxiety, depression and chronic stress. This year, the focus was placed on the importance of ensuring equal access to mental health care, highlighting the need to overcome the stigma and barriers that prevent those who are suffering from seeking help.
World Mental Health Day is not only a moment to raise awareness, but also to promote concrete actions that can improve the quality of life for millions of people worldwide. Companies, too, can play their part: ensuring healthy and supportive work environments, investing in psychological support programmes for employees, and fostering a culture of openness and understanding around mental health are essential steps for the future.
