After the last match on Thursday 30 May, Venezia-Cremonese ended 0-0, there were those who no longer hoped and those who thought Serie A was now a memory of 2021/2022.
But some never stopped believing in it and waited for the Laguna team to play at home.
And they did well, because during the playoff return final in the 24th minute: GOOOAAAAAL!!! Venezia took the lead thanks to striker Cristian Gytkjaer. The “Penzo” explodes.
There will be no further action to prevent the whistle at the end of the match announcing the return to Serie A for the Venezia team!
The match in question was played at home, in the stadium of Venezia FC: Pier Luigi Penzo located on the island of St. Helena. The second oldest football stadium in Italy, after the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genoa.
Venezia FC represents a symbol for the city of Venice, and on Monday 3 June, as per tradition, there was the procession of honour on the water. The players on a ‘peata’ and the technical staff aboard gondolas left at 5pm from Piazzale Roma, heading for San Marco. The fans’ embrace was warm, from the boats as well as from the banks, with songs, flags and choruses.
