Pink October is a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and prevention of breast cancer, one of the most common cancer diseases among women, but which can also affect men. Throughout the month of October, information campaigns, events and activities are intensified to promote the importance of prevention and early diagnosis, fundamental tools to increase the chances of a cure.

Early diagnosis is essential: thanks to regular check-ups such as mammography and breast ultrasound, breast cancer can be detected in its early stages, when treatment is more effective and less invasive. Many health facilities, during Pink October, offer free or low-cost screenings to encourage women to take care of their health.

In addition to prevention, Pink October is a time for solidarity with those facing the disease. Cities are tinged pink, with illuminated monuments to draw attention to this common battle and give strength to those who are fighting cancer. The events include marches, conferences and fundraisers, the proceeds of which go towards scientific research and improved treatments.
In the City of Venice, two special vehicles were presented, the Autobus Rosa and the Vaporetto Rosa.

These vehicles are ready to ply the waters of the Lagoon and travel the streets of the mainland, starting a long and punctual journey to raise awareness during this month.
Participating in Pink October means not only supporting prevention, but also spreading awareness about the importance of acting in time, remembering that breast health is a priority for all.
For us at Finking this is a very heartfelt theme, as our team is mostly ‘pink’.
