In legal language, translation does not simply mean finding the correct equivalent of a term in another language. It means working between different legal systems, where a single word may carry different meanings and implications depending on the context. This was exactly the focus of the webinar “Legal translation and terminology verification: the Translò project”, organised by ANITI on 21 May 2026.

The meeting explored one of the most invisible yet essential aspects of linguistic work: terminology verification. Today, digital tools and artificial intelligence can speed up the search for terms and references, but they cannot replace human control. A word may appear linguistically correct without actually being accurate from a legal perspective.

This is why, in legal translation, methodology matters just as much as language itself. Documentary research, source verification, terminological consistency and knowledge of the legal systems involved are all essential. It is a field that requires precision, attention to detail and the ability to interpret context, not just text.

The Translò project fits directly into this evolution of the industry: using technology as operational support without losing the value of critical revision and specialist expertise. An approach that is becoming increasingly important in a market where speed and reliability must coexist.

At Finking, we work every day with legal, contractual and institutional documents that require exactly this level of attention. Because a legal translation should not simply “sound right”: it must be consistent, verifiable and suitable for the context in which it will be used. Behind every text there are procedures, responsibilities and concrete consequences. That is why terminological precision, operational continuity and quality control are not secondary details, but an integral part of the service itself. Rely on professionals who turn precision, methodology and linguistic expertise into practical support for your projects: rely on Finking!
