The final conference of the ‘Io Porto Parità’ project was held yesterday, 20 February 2025, at the ITS Marco Polo in Venice. The initiative was promoted by the Centre for Intermodal Logistics Training (CFLI) as lead partner, with funding from the Veneto Regional Programme ESF+ 2021-2027.
The initiative involved various players, including accredited training organisations, public bodies, employment agencies, organisations in the cultural and entertainment sector, universities, research centres and trade associations with the aim of enhancing and promoting the role of women in the logistics and transport sector. The project represented an important opportunity to analyse the challenges and opportunities linked to gender equality in a sector historically dominated by the presence of men.

The Leone Moressa Foundation participated in the project by contributing to the creation of the Manifesto of Equality for Work entitled ‘The leadership we like’ and conducted a series of interviews with 35 women entrepreneurs, highlighting the challenges faced by these professionals, the strategies adopted to overcome obstacles and the opportunities seized during their careers. Through these stories, the Foundation wanted to raise awareness among the public and stakeholders about the importance of gender equality and female leadership in the logistics and port sector. Our owner, Elena Finco, is among the 35 women interviewed by the Foundation.
There are certainly still many difficulties for women who aspire to positions of responsibility, but at the same time there are more and more companies that are investing in greater inclusivity and the development of female skills.
For us at Finking it was an honour to be one of the companies involved in this project, which reinforces our commitment to promoting a more equitable and inclusive work culture.
