Yesterday, 20 February 2025, the final conference of the project “Io Porto Parità” took place at the ITS Marco Polo in Venice. The initiative was promoted by the Intermodal Logistics Training Centre (CFLI) as lead partner and funded by the Veneto Regional Programme FSE+ 2021–2027.
The project involved a wide range of stakeholders, including accredited training bodies, public institutions, employment agencies, organisations from the cultural and performing arts sectors, universities, research centres and trade associations, with the aim of promoting and enhancing the role of women in the logistics and transport sector. The initiative provided an important opportunity to analyse the challenges and opportunities related to gender equality in a field historically dominated by men.

The Leone Moressa Foundation took part in the project by contributing to the creation of the Manifesto of Equality for Work entitled “The Leadership We Like” and by conducting a series of interviews with 35 women entrepreneurs, highlighting the challenges these professionals have faced, the strategies they have adopted to overcome obstacles and the opportunities they have seized throughout their careers. Through these stories, the Foundation sought to raise awareness among the public and stakeholders about the importance of gender equality and female leadership in the logistics and port sector. Our founder, Elena Finco, is among the 35 women interviewed by the Foundation.
While the difficulties still faced by women aspiring to positions of responsibility are certainly many, an increasing number of companies are investing in greater inclusivity and in the enhancement of women’s skills.
For us at Finking, it was an honour to be among the companies involved in this project, which strengthens our commitment to promoting a more equitable and inclusive work culture.
