On 24 April, the first Day of Ideas will take place, the days leading up to the sixth edition of the Festival of Ideas.
The guest of this first day is Stefania Auci, author of the series of novels “The Florio saga”, who will converse with journalist Giulia Zennaro at the “Cesare de Michelis” Auditorium in Mestre in a meeting entitled “A bestselling saga and the unknown that crosses history”.
The Florio saga is a highly successful literary bestseller that has been published and translated in 40 countries and has also been adapted for a Disney+ series.
The books tell the story of the Florio family, spice merchants of Calabrian origin, who immigrated to Sicily and here, thanks to their talent and entrepreneurial spirit, created numerous businesses that led to the cultural renaissance of the region and modernised industry and agriculture.
Thanks to their contribution, the method of preserving tuna in oil was introduced for the first time and Marsala wine became a luxury product.
This year’s Festival delle Idee is still in the planning stages, but Massimo Recalcati has already been announced as the first guest, who will deliver a lectio magistralis at the Teatro Malibran in Venice entitled ‘A Mystery in the Light: the Unconscious’.
