Tomorrow, 22 June 2024, the thirteenth edition of ART NIGHT VENICE will take place. The blue of the night will once again colour Venice, in the sign of Marco Polo 700 years after his death.
Art Night is an event conceived and organised by Ca’ Foscari University in collaboration with the City of Venice and included in the official calendar of the European Art Nights.
It takes place on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice, during which there will be extraordinary evening openings of palaces, museums and galleries. But there will also be entertainment with music, plays and much more. A marathon of hundreds of events offering the unmissable opportunity to enjoy Venice’s immense artistic heritage under the stars.
The focus will be the great exhibition “Uzbekistan: l’Avanguardia nel deserto”, the first exhibition in the West of masterpieces from the Museums of Tashkent and Nukus. An exceptional event, which also fits pertinently into the vast framework of the Marco Polo centenary celebrations, highlighting a hitherto unseen aspect of the cultural dialogue between East and West.
New for Art Night, Sleepless Video Art Night,
which, in collaboration with CIFRA, will present an exciting marathon of 30 unedited Video Art works on the theme of travel, created by important international artists.
As we were saying, there will be no shortage of music, as ‘Mamme per caso’, an all-female singing group from Venice Lido, will also be playing.
Hundreds of venues will be involved and hundreds of events will be scheduled. The entire city, the historic centre, the islands and Mestre, will come alive thanks to the evening opening of museums, cultural institutions, theatres, bookshops, galleries, associations and artists’ studios.
