The series of ‘Marzo rosa’ (pink March) initiatives in Mestre, aimed at promoting acts of solidarity with women, comes to a close this week. We at Finking have had the opportunity to take part in many of these events, and last Wednesday 22 March we attended ‘Stories of Women’, a conference organised by Soroptimist International Italia, Venice Mestre section.
Soroptimist International is the worldwide association of women engaged in professional and managerial activities. A universal voice for women, expressed through awareness, support and action. Soroptimists carry out projects, promote actions and create opportunities through the global network of members and international cooperation, so that all women can realise their individual and collective potential, realise their aspirations and create strong peaceful communities in the world.
During the meeting, stories of successful women were told, who through their strength and spirit of initiative were able to go beyond the obstacles and gender barriers that often limit the true potential of women who wish to pursue a career.
Of course, even though the ‘Marzo rosa’ is now over, we hope that the commitment to ensuring equal opportunities and rights for women will continue in the months and years to come. Finking is in the front line, together with women, to make the world more and more pink day by day!
