Kathy Steele, one of the leading international experts in psychotraumatology, will guide participants through a unique programme of four seminars, each consisting of two four-hour sessions, for a total of 32 hours of training, in a live online Masterclass on Trauma and Dissociation.

Dr Steele will address some of the most important and challenging issues in therapy, particularly in work with Complex Trauma: shame, ethical dilemmas, self-criticism, and the risk of self-harm and suicide.

The course aims to deepen understanding of the underlying dynamics of certain relational patterns and patient behaviours from a compassionate perspective, while providing cognitive, emotional, somatic, dynamic and practical tools to identify the most effective ways of addressing them.

In particular, the training places a strong focus on the therapist, since the depth of the themes explored often engages the therapist’s own sensitivity and personality, which may be challenged when these issues arise in therapy. One of the key objectives is to equip therapists with tools to observe what is happening within themselves, in order to offer patients the most appropriate and attuned response.
