The Festival of Ideas is a project launched in 2019, the aim of which is to connect places and people, organisations, institutions and socio-cultural realities in the area and create a space for the exchange of ideas and dialogue.
The theme of this fifth edition is ‘In Praise of Uncertainty’. Uncertainty is seen not as a negative condition, but as a force that drives us to seek new solutions, making us fully accept change.
The Festival organisers took inspiration from the words of French philosopher Edgar Morin in choosing this theme: Life is a navigation in an ocean of uncertainties through islands of certainties. Even if concealed or removed, uncertainty accompanies the great adventure of humanity, every national history, every individual life.
The encounters, which will take place during this month between Venice and Mestre, will have as protagonists characters from different contexts, who will confront a theme and observe it from different angles, giving new ideas and cultural stimuli.
Our Elena has participated and will participate in several meetings as part of the Festival delle Idee as an interpreter, including a meeting with former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and the Colombian-born American author R. J. Palacio, known for her bestseller Wonder.
