Mindfulness practice, self-acceptance, self-compassion, and care for oneself and one’s body are among the main themes that psychologists and psychotherapists increasingly engage with in their daily work, both in clinical practice with adults and in work with children and adolescents.

The integration of psychology with meditative and awareness-based practices has opened up new opportunities not only in clinical work and in the treatment of different types of patients, but has also created space for the therapist’s self-regulation, both at an emotional and at a physical level.

Several clinical models (CBT, Self-Compassion, Bodyfulness) will be presented, along with their different applications in developmental age and in adulthood.

The training, which will explore multiple aspects of Mindfulness, is led by five of the leading Italian and international experts in the field:

Christopher Willard, Professor at Harvard Medical School, author of numerous books and frequent TEDx speaker, works on applications of Mindfulness for children and adolescents with a range of different disorders.

Steven Hickman, lecturer at the San Diego School of Medicine (University of California), Director and Founder of the San Diego Center for Mindfulness, developed the Mindful Self-Compassion programme.

Richard Sears, Director of the Center for Clinical Mindfulness & Meditation, author of many volumes on Mindfulness and a Zen teacher, focuses primarily on integrating CBT and Mindfulness.

Claudio Pavia, a psychoanalyst with expertise in the treatment of eating disorders and in sensorimotor psychotherapy, and an MBSR instructor, will offer an integrated perspective through a journey across psychoanalysis, Chinese philosophy and Buddhist principles.

Christine Caldwell, founder and Professor Emerita of the Somatic Counseling Program at Naropa University and an expert in somatic awareness, teaches how patient and therapist can use the body and Bodyfulness in clinical practice.

Vittoria Ardino, Director of Trauma Living Lab and President of SISST (Italian Society for the Study of Traumatic Stress), and Patrizia Vaccaro, instructor in Mindfulness protocols, will specify the applications of Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness.
