HOW IS THE PRICE OF A TRANSLATION CALCULATED? WHAT UNIT OF MEASUREMENT IS USED?

Very often, almost always, in fact, when we are asked for a quote, we are first told that the document to be translated consists of “x” pages. Unfortunately, for us pages are not a reliable parameter for defining a quote, because, as you may realize, one page may contain 10 lines written in a very large font, while another may contain 150 lines in a very small font. Clearly, the amount of text to be translated is not the same.

For this reason, there are several ways to calculate the “size” of a translation (the same applies to revisions). We have adopted the method listed first below, namely a rate per standard page.

RATE PER STANDARD PAGE
A standard page is a unit of measurement corresponding to 1,500* characters, including spaces, of the source document. The document will therefore consist of “x” standard pages.

HOURLY RATE
By setting a price “x” for each hour or half-hour of translation.

PER-WORD RATE
By setting an amount in terms of cents per word of the source document.
