FINKING JOINS AITI IN CONDEMNING THE WAR IN UKRAINE
Elena Finco, owner of Finking S.r.l. and national auditor of AITI, joins AITI in condemning the war in Ukraine with the following statement:
In light of the events currently taking place in Ukraine, the thoughts, solidarity, and support of the Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters (AITI) go out to all fellow translators and interpreters, as well as to the entire Ukrainian people who are engaged in defending their freedom and democracy and who are the innocent victims of one of the most dramatic events in Europe’s recent history.
We hope that reason and peace will prevail, that hostilities and human rights violations will cease, and that our colleagues in Ukraine, as well as those living in Italy who are distressed by the situation in their home country, may soon be able to return to normal life.
We also express our closeness to those among the Russian population who firmly condemn this war and who are suffering and will continue to suffer the consequences of this action.
We hope that governments around the world will act as soon as possible to find a dialogue and restore peace and serenity in Europe.
We join the entire international community in wishing peace and justice for the Ukrainian people.
