The metropolitan city of Venice once again this year launches one of its most important initiatives, the Festival of Ideas. The festival focuses on human capital to understand the contemporary world and related issues.

To prepare for the start of the fifth edition, the ‘Three Days of Ideas’ were set up, involving Vincenzo Schettini as guest speaker with the lecture-performance ‘Physics we like’, writer Gianluca Gotto with his new book ‘Deep as the sea, light as the sky’ and then, on Tuesday 6 June, former New York mayor Bill De Blasio who made an exceptional appearance, speaking on two highly topical issues: dealing with the climate crisis and public schools as an investment in the future.

Finking was also an active participant for the second year running, interpreting for the latter.

These were just previews for the festival proper in autumn, the main theme of which will be focused on the feeling that most commonly permeates this period in history, uncertainty, to explore the aspects that see it not as a limitation but as a resource and creative force capable of generating new ideas, challenges and opportunities. 125 guests will be present and 9 of the city’s most evocative venues, including the Toniolo Theatre, will be used as a stage for the event.
